APRS IGATE INFORMATION!

Every amateur which has a radio for APRS (and internet) should become a IGATE!!!

First I shall explain what an IGATE station is.
APRS stations send their position coordinates (or messages) beacons to satellites or ISS.
Their beacons will be sended (via SAT or ISS digipeater) back to earth, an igate -
station (on the ground) will catch those beacons and (re)send it to internet.

IGATE SETTINGS IN UIVIEW!

Everyone can become an IGATE station (for example) with UIVIEW APRS Software
In UIVIEW you can connect a aprs internet server and send your received beacons (automatic) to them.
The uiview software was (in the past) not freeware.
The uiview
designer Roger Barker (G4IDE) died of cancer.
Register on the uiview website is free but it is asked -
that you make a donation to your local or national cancer agency!
http://www.ui-view.org/

When you have downloaded (and registered) uiview software, you
can run uiview.
First it is importand to load a new fresh server list.
Go to File---->Download APRS Server List.

Go to Setup----->APRS Server Setup------>Look at screenshot!

You need a validation number to have acces to aprs servers!!!

When you register via the uiview website you will
receive a serial number and a validation number.
When you select a server you need to connect that server.
Action------>Connect to APRS Server, now your received APRS

stations (via your receiver) goes to findu APRS log website!
http://www.findu.com/cgi-bin/ariss/index.cgi (ISS).
http://www.findu.com/cgi-bin/pcsat.cgi (PCSAT).

So the next time when you start uiview the only thing you have to do is connect
the aprs server.
Good luck!
